My latest piece is a tribute to my oldest Grandson for his birthday. His Great-Grandmother

( NayNay ) passed away 9 years ago, and the two of them were very close. You see, my Grandson was diagnosed with cancer when he was just a little shy from turning 2 years old.

He was so brave and so tough going through all the chemo and needle sticks, she began to call him, her " Hero ", and his port was his " Super Man " button.

This portrait is made from the photo I took of them after his hair grew back and the treatments were " no longer needed ", because he is cancer FREE!!!

When I gave him this gift , my strong now 16 year old had tears in his eyes, and you could see the memories flooding his heart and mind.

I felt like my Grandson needed a little reminder that his NayNay is always with him, within his heart and memories. Every Prayer she Prayed is just as strong and relevant, every word she said to him still holds Truth, and every hug and kiss can be felt in his heart.

So I made him a second portrait of him with his NayNay as if she were still here in body.
